I've always had a penchant for words and the stories they tell.  Before I
learned to write, I would dictate while my grandmother wrote.

Storytelling comes naturally.

It was only after working along sales people that I realized storytelling is the
foundation of successful marketing. Today I seek to help organizations,
companies, and individuals tell their stories—on the web, through direct
mail, and in the pages of their books.

Where I work

My office is based in Boise, Idaho, but thanks to the wonders of technology, I
can work from practically anywhere in the world. This means I can work from
a coffee shop down the road, or sitting on a beach Hawaii. This not only
provides the perfect setting for creativity, it allows for accessibility—no matter
where you reside, we can still partner together.

How I work

The way I see it, your name means greatness; my job is to help you convey
that greatness. In order to do so, I must understand where you're coming
from—and take the time to learn where you want to go. That means research
is a big part of all that I do. I'll meet with you, either in person or electronically.
I'll ask a few questions, request materials. Then I'll work to become
something of an expert. All this before writing or editing ever begins.

And since I view my work as a partnership, when I take on an assignment,
you will be working directly with me. I will keep you in the loop with
turnaround times, and progress to date. If my schedule is especially busy—
or there is a time I’ll be unavailable—you’ll be notified of the fact.

Why I stay ahead

My formal education taught me the importance of research, grammar, and
proper sentence structure; it also taught me the value of learning something
new, each and every day. I follow industry trends and continue to learn from
the masters.

And that’s a good thing—because things change quickly. You can’t afford to
have someone resting on yesterday’s success.

Of course, practice makes perfect.  I write every day. I'm also a voracious
reader. Though I like a bit of everything, I remain addicted to mysteries,
fantasy, and literary fiction.
“It’s one thing to hire
someone who is highly
skilled, but is hard to get
along with, or to hire
someone great to get
along with but falls short
on needed expertise.  Amy
has the rare combination
of being highly skilled, and
very pleasant to work with.
Even under pressure, her
cool and happy demeanor
does not dull the edge of
her creativity and skill.”
